Rematch is an upcoming online multiplayer football (soccer) game.[1][2] In Rematch, players control one player on their team in a 5v5 match from a third-person perspective.[3][4] The game will feature cross-platform play, for Microsoft Windows, MacOS, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and Series S platforms.
Rematch will not be a free-to-play game and will contain seasonal content inspired by real football to add game modes, events, features, and cosmetics for both players and stadiums.[1]
Development
[edit]Rematch is developed & published by Sloclap, a video game company founded in France in 2015. Sloclap have previously worked on two video games: Sifu and Absolver. Rematch got announced in December 2024 and a set date was set for sometime in the summer of 2025. on Xbox Series X and S, PS5, and PC via Steam.[2][3] The game supports up to 10 online players with PS Plus. The game was announced in December 2024 with a release date set for summer 2025.[5]
Features
[edit]Rematch is set in closed virtual reality arenas, with no fouls hence no penalties, no offsides or any breaks in play.[4] The ball doesn't go out of play so there are no throw-ins or goal kicks.[4] Players control a single footballer on the team, switching between attacker and defender and even the goalkeeper, which has specific abilities.[6] Rematch features an aim and shoot mechanic for shooting the ball and scoring scores.
