Purpose

[edit]

The Infobox concept template is designed to provide a standardized summary of key information about abstract ideas or concepts, such as theories, strategies, or frameworks, on Wikipedia articles. It is suitable for topics in fields like business, philosophy, science, or social sciences.

Usage

[edit]

To use this infobox, place the following code at the top of the article and fill in the appropriate fields:

{{Infobox concept | name = | image = | caption = | field = | origin = | key_people = | purpose = }}

Parameters

[edit]

All parameters are optional unless otherwise noted. If a parameter is left blank, it will not appear in the infobox.

Parameter Description
name The name of the concept. If not provided, it defaults to the article's title.
image The filename of an image related to the concept (e.g., example.jpg). Do not include the "File:" prefix. Ensure the image complies with Wikipedia:Image use policy.
caption A brief description of the image, if one is included.
field The discipline or area to which the concept belongs (e.g., Business strategy, Philosophy, Physics).
origin The source or context where the concept was first introduced (e.g., a book, paper, or event, such as "Play Bigger" (2016)).
key_people Individuals who developed or are closely associated with the concept (e.g., Christopher Lochhead, Al Ramadan).
purpose A concise statement of the concept's goal or significance (e.g., Creating and dominating new market categories).

Example

[edit]

Below is an example of how to use the infobox for the article on Category design:

{{Infobox concept | name = Category Design | image = | caption = | field = Business strategy, Marketing | origin = "Play Bigger" (2016) | key_people = Christopher Lochhead, Al Ramadan, Dave Peterson, Kevin Maney | purpose = Creating and dominating new market categories }}

This will produce an infobox with the specified details, neatly formatted and aligned with Wikipedia's style.
