Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College Swabi (KSKCCS)
[edit]Introduction
[edit]Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College Swabi is a semi-government boarding educational institution in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The College aims to provide quality education while focusing on the personality development of its cadets. The Alma Mater is a nursery for the young generation to equip themselves with academic excellence, physical fitness, and leadership qualities. Indeed, it is playing a vital role to uplift the standard of education in Pakistan.[1]
History
[edit]Karnal Sher Khan Cadet College (KSKCCS) was established in honor of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, a brave soldier awarded Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military decoration. The initiative to build the college was formally announced in 2000 by the then Chief of Army Staff, General Pervez Musharraf (late). For its construction, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Federal governments jointly provided 820 acres of land. Brig. (R) Zafar Ullah Khan, Commander Logistic Area, along with his team, played a pivotal role in acquiring the land and overseeing the College's development. Lt. General Ali Muhammad Jan Orakzai, Commander of 11 Corps, was appointed Chairman of the Board of Governors (BOGs) and presided over the groundbreaking ceremony on 8th March 2004. After completing Phase-1 in February 2011, the College commenced operations on 11 September 2011, initially admitting 180 cadets—95 in 8th grade and 85 in 11th grade. The College is governed by a Board of Governors (BOGs), chaired by the Corps Commander of 11 Corps, Peshawar.
