The 2025 season is the 16th season for the Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings. They are one of the ten teams competing in the 2025 Indian Premier League. They finished in xxth place in the previous season.[1]

Pre-season

The 2025 Indian Premier League is the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League, a franchise Twenty20 cricket league held in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The tournament features ten teams competing in 74 matches from 22 March to 25 May 2025 across 13 venues in India.[2] [team] play their home matches at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.[3]

Player retention

Franchises were allowed to retain a maximum of six players from their squad,[4][5] including a maximum of five recent international players.[6] Franchises were required to submit their retention lists before 31 October 2024.[7] [team] retained xxx players.[8]

Auction

The season's auction took place in November 2024 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.[10] The auction purse for each franchise was set at 120 crore (US$14 million), with franchises deducted an amount from the purse for every retained player.[11] [team] had a purse remaining of crore (US$Formatting error: invalid input when rounding).[12] Franchises who did not retain six players, were allowed Right-to-Match cards at the auction for each player not retained.[13] [team] had xx card(s) available.[14]
