Bill Ackman, Herbalife

Hello again, ARandomName123. We were in touch last year at Talk:Pershing Square Capital Management, in particular surrounding the Herbalife section at that article. With that context in mind, would you mind taking a look at Bill Ackman#Herbalife short? At it reads now, it is unbalanced and misleading in large part because it lacks information about the US Government's findings about the company which validated Ackman's thesis, but importantly the section is over-detailed and WP:UNDUE for a biography of Ackman, at 10 paragraphs. Could you help trim the section to an appropriate length, possibly similar to the two paragraphs we have at the Pershing Square article? Another option to consider is to WP:SPLIT the longer Herbalife story into its own article. I welcome your thoughts and would appreciate your involvement. Despite me hating it, certain math has always been really easy for me for some reason, so i breezed through calculus. Physics, on the other hand, was way too abstract for me (and it didn't help that the teacher I got was the head of the math department who on a whim decided to teach a math class that year and his teaching method was terrible since he acted like all of it was easy and we should just understand everything like he does). And don't even get me started on organic chemistry...

Yea, it was unfortunate. I took a look at the tracker today, and honestly I have no clue what's going on with it. I turned it on again, and it was non-functional. I left for a few hours, came back, and it was working normally again for some reason?? And then it ran into that doublecount rewind error again after another hour or so? Anyways, turns out I was relying on an unmaintained Python library for some reason, so hopefully it should be good once I rewrite it to work with a maintained one. I did accidentally delete the old logs, so I had to manually readd the old data back in from the leaderboard history, so if there are any edits missing (there shouldn't be, but I may have missed something), please let me know. It's experiencing the rewind error on and off again. It should avoid double counting, but might drop an edit here and there. Spent quite a bit trying to figure out what was wrong with my code, until I stumbled upon phab:T388290 and phab:T388294. Turns out it wasn't even a problem on my end. Hello Juxlos, I am Butters. In writing something to be published how necessary is it to add citations within certain aspects of the topic? I understand it's needed on presenting facts but when things that are undecided but leaning towards could be facts. How important at that point to express that it might not be absolute yet? There are many subjects I have seen that speak on things as factual when certain studies have made no such conclusion or claimed as such. But may lean towards the conclusion as factual. @Buttersuwant: Hi, when writing, you should ensure your text matches closely with the source. Undecided or leaning towards facts should not be included, unless they can be explicitly supported by a reliable source. If a source makes no comment on a conclusion, do not draw your own conclusion. The only thing I noticed was a bit similar was However, the IMLA did not authorize Native American lease-holders to cancel leases, nor establish any "regulatory authority" once projects had begun. The DOI negotiated below-market prices and failed to enforce environmental protections and "royalty compliance". It's not that bad though, so just adjust a few words and it should be good. @Jeff Goldberg-96: I usually use the VE during normal editing as well, however it isn't very good at anything other than standard writing. I don't believe there is a way to do this on the VE. Formatting of tables is usually better done through the source editor. Usually, just check what the row above yours did, and copy in the formatting text. This is regarding the recently deleted article: Vastav AI. I noticed that you had nominated a few WP:Socks that were making edits to this page. In lieu of that, the page has been recreated by [1] who has barely contributed to anything apart from his article. The other user involved was recently banned: [2] and [3]. I feel that these are a bunch of meat puppets and paid editors, as the current wiki article does clearly do read like an advert as well. I have nominated the page VastavX AI for speedy deletion. Broken links on book pages?

Kind of weird, I was reviewing another book page on AfC today and a bunch of the links were broken.[4] Nbd, because I found other sources and added them so the draft looks fine now. I also wanted to find working links for the original sources but I couldn't so I pulled them out. It reminded me a lot of the Sin eater/lord of mysteries sources and made me wonder if this is AI or something? Hope this isn't just gonna be a thing. BuySomeApples (talk) 07:34, 29 April 2025 (UTC)

Yea I was thinking along those lines, possibly AI. Normally it could just be linkrot, but none of these appear on archives, and the access date shows that they should have been accessible. I have been noticing them a bit more often now though, and a while ago I draftified two articles (Draft:Matthias Schlitte and Draft:James Gillman) which had sources that looked good but didn't exist. Hi mentor! Just to comment that I was trying to create a set of pages about astronomical data providers but it looks the reviewers do not see interest on those. Maybe to me, as astronomer who uses those services every day to do astronomical discoveries, the matter is quite relevant and I think this is shared by the astronomical community but I doubt now to continue this line of contribution. Sorry, I'm still not clear on what you're looking for. There's a WikiProject called Wikipedia:WikiProject South America, and there's an article on the continent itself at South America. Can these older newspaper article be cited as references. Also , are government website information such as licensing and incorporation information be used as references. If possible, government website information should be replaced with articles, books or other types of secondary sources. Quick follow up question. When submitting an article do you have to upload the newspaper article or just the citation. I just thinking it may be hard to verify older newspaper articles without the actual article being made available for local newspapers that may not be accessible via the web. I'm of course aware of the conflict of interest rules and would like to do everything above board and full disclosure. I'd really just like to make sure people know of Acclaim in the history books and want to create a full accounting with accuracy of Acclaim's history and its significance in the local areas around essex. @ACoolDuck: The majority of these articles are considered trivial coverage, and do not count towards notability. Per the guideline, examples of substantial coverage that would generally be sufficient to meet the requirement:

• A news article discussing a prolonged controversy regarding a corporate merger,
• A scholarly article, a book passage, or ongoing media coverage focusing on a product or organization,
• A documentary film exploring environmental impact of the corporation's facilities or products,
• An encyclopedia entry giving an overview of the history of an organization,
• A report by a consumer watchdog organization on the safety of a specific product,
• An extensive how-to guide written by people wholly independent of the company or product (e.g. For Dummies).
