If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

[edit]Uncontroversial technical requests
[edit]- Talk:Prostitution in the State of Palestine → Talk:Prostitution in Palestine (currently a redirect back to Talk:Prostitution in the State of Palestine) (move · discuss) – Match article Prostitution in Palestine, talk page was forgotten following Talk:Prostitution in the State of Palestine#Requested move 18 April 2025. - Yusuke Suzuki (race walker) → Yusuke Suzuki (move · discuss) – No need for disambiguation after Yusuke Suzuki (footballer) was deleted. Sahaib (talk) 16:10, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- But, it doesn't appear Yusuke Suzuki (footballer) was deleted? Mdewman6 (talk) 22:48, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Per the logs, it had been WP:PRODded and was undeleted following WP:RFU#Yusuke Suzuki (footballer). Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 23:36, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

- Jimmy Dunne (disambiguation) → Jimmy Dunne (currently a redirect back to Jimmy Dunne (disambiguation)) (move · discuss) – No WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, dab should be at basename. Ortizesp (talk) 17:43, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Hi! Since you made a change to the redirect target, may I kindly ask you please cleanup the links at Special:WhatLinksHere/Jimmy Dunne, which now point to a dab? Thank you! Rotideypoc41352 (talk · contribs) 17:48, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Done. Most redirects were to talk pages, I already most others with a tool.@Rotideypoc41352: Ortizesp (talk) 19:02, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- On further inspection, dab should be at James Dunne, he should be disambiguated to James Dunne (footballer), and Jimmy Dunne should be redirect at dab.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:12, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

- Wikipedia:Blackened Recordings → Blackened Recordings (currently a redirect instead to Metallica#2006–2013: Death Magnetic and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction) (move · discuss) – created english translation of dedicated page for Metallica's record label which was previously redirecting to the main page of Metallica Jacobspeeds2 (talk) 20:21, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

- 2025 Papal conclave papabili → 2025 papal conclave papabili (move · discuss) – By existing precedent in 2025 papal conclave and Cardinal electors in the 2025 papal conclave, the letter 'p' in 'papal' in the article title should be lowercase. 73.8.239.215 (talk) 21:00, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Support. Talk:Prostitution in the State of Palestine cannot be moved to Talk:Prostitution in Palestine because the talk page redirect has history that blocks the move. A page swap may be needed. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 23:55, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves
[edit]- 2019 India–Pakistan border skirmishes → 2019 India–Pakistan standoff (currently a redirect back to 2019 India–Pakistan border skirmishes) (move · discuss) – Please revert undiscussed move (WP:UNDOMOVE) by user Mistakefinder. The 2019 deadlock between both countries were not just normal skirmshes, but a standoff as used by sources. Standoff is also consistent with other articles, such as Media coverage of 2019 India–Pakistan standoff, 2001–2002 India–Pakistan standoff, 2008 India–Pakistan standoff, 2025 India–Pakistan standoff etc. Al-Waqīmī (talk) 18:53, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Traitors (miniseries) → Traitors (TV series) (currently a redirect instead to Traitor (disambiguation)) (move · discuss) – No discussed, reverting back to original name crated in UK format. Halbared (talk) 19:15, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
Contested technical requests
[edit]- Girl in Red → girl in red (currently a redirect back to Girl in Red) (move · discuss) – Nocaps to be consistent with artist's preferred sylisation à la xkcd. –DMartin 04:09, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- Needs discussion, including overwhelming WP:COMMONNAME evidence of the lowercase "r". 162 etc. (talk) 17:27, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @162 etc.: Hi, can you expand on this, I don't think I understand. –DMartin 02:27, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia does not necessarily use the subject's official name as an article title; it generally prefers the name that is most commonly used (as determined by its prevalence in a significant majority of independent, reliable, English-language sources. 162 etc. (talk) 02:32, 1 May 2025 (UTC)

- Hugues de Payens → Hugo de Paganis (currently a redirect back to Hugues de Payens) (move · discuss) – there is a longstanding dispute about their name and origin, which we already detail in the article (§ Name and § Origin and early life), and the Latin name is the only one every single source agrees upon, hence being the most neutral and common. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 04:44, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Est. 2021: I'm a bit skeptical. Not necessarily contesting but people didn't casually speak Latin by the time Payens lived, so the fact that he had a consistent written form of his name in Latin isn't that interesting for someone not known solely by their Latin letters, say. Regardless of whether he was born French or Italian, he ended up in France, no? So what's the issue with using the French name? The lede itself says he is "commonly" known that way (and used to only introduce him as such before your edits), although maybe I'm misinterpreting it... SnowFire (talk) 03:58, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- @SnowFire: Well, he actually didn't. If we ignore all theories about his early life under similar yet different names (none of them as "Hugues de Payens"), he only was in France for the Council of Troyes and to meet saint Bernard, but he basically lived in the Kingdom of Jerusalem until his death. After that, sources say he was buried in Ferrara, Italy, as you can check at § Death, and even French authors cite that. Blaise de Pagan, Pierre Dupuy, etc. Note that the Italian name was already well attested before the 16th century, while no source has ever used the current French name before the 19th century altered "translations" by Paulin Paris. Yet we can't be sure about anything about him, even the Portuguese claimed him, so I think the Latin name, shared and agreed upon by all sources, is the most neutral, besides the most frequent among all sources. Est. 2021 (talk · contribs) 09:18, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- As there is a "longstanding dispute about their name and origin", I suggest a requested move discussion. TSventon (talk) 18:18, 30 April 2025 (UTC)

- LADE → LADE - Líneas Aéreas Del Estado (currently a redirect back to LADE) (move · discuss) – The title should not be limited to the abbreviation "LADE". Swiãtopôłk (talk) 13:48, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Wikipedia basically never formats a title in a way as redundant as this – i.e., including an acronym and its corresponding spelled-out words. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:42, 1 May 2025 (UTC)
- Draft:Qasim Shesho → Qasim Shesho (currently a redirect instead to Haydar Shesho) (move · discuss) – They are different people (uncle/nephew relationship). The redirect blocks creation of a legitimate article. Kuripenjwen (talk) 23:57, 28 April 2025 (UTC)
- Note: Converted to the standard formatting for a request. The deletion/treatment of redirect is implicit. – robertsky (talk) 00:55, 29 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Kuripenjwen Given the edit history, it would great if you have more sources before pushing this to mainspace – robertsky (talk) 06:01, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- @DataNomad Note the above. – robertsky (talk) 06:03, 2 May 2025 (UTC)

- Yamani (Shiism) → Yamani (move · discuss) – Disamb. not needed. Sole article with that name. AimanAbir18plus (talk) 15:17, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- This was previously contested here and an RM is open on the talk page. Tenshi! (Talk page) 15:45, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Tellurophenes → Tellurophene (currently a redirect back to Tellurophenes) (move · discuss) – singular form is more correct 109.54.246.114 (talk) 16:57, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- It seems like a class of substances. There is an exception in WP:SINGULAR for such cases. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:56, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Well, there is a chembox for the specific compound, but then most of the body of the article is about the class. The singular seems consistent with articles for analogous compounds, but happy to discuss at RM (at least, there seems to be enough uncertainty here to merit an RM).

- Climate engineering → Geoengineering (currently a redirect back to Climate engineering) (move · discuss) – More common term; see talk page; currently the redirect is in the wrong direction TERSEYES (talk) 17:24, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- This is definitely potentially controversial and should go through a normal RM. Mdewman6 (talk) 22:45, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Yazidi Genocide (1915) (currently a redirect to Yazidi genocide (1915)) → Persecution of Yazidis (1915) (move · discuss) – "Genocide" is not clearly supported by sources. "Persecution" is more accurate and neutral, as sources describe killings, displacement, and forced conversions without labeling it genocide. DataNomad (talk) 19:09, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Contentious topic partially nominated for deletion (twice). Article has only existed for a few days. Spirited discussion on the article's Talk page. — BarrelProof (talk) 19:59, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
- Seems WP:PCM then. Mdewman6 (talk) 22:48, 2 May 2025 (UTC)
