AussieMite is an Australian yeast extract-based savoury food spread. Its primary uses are for toasts and sandwiches.[1] It was founded by Roger Ramsey in 2000.[2]
History
[edit]AussieMite was founded by Roger Ramsey, a pilot. It first became available in Australian supermarkets in 2001. In 2011, it expanded into the United Kingdom, United States, United Arab Emirates and Southeast Asia.[3] It is a registered trademark in Australia, the United Kingdom, European Union, United States of America, United Arab Emirates, and Japan.[4][5]
Ingredients
[edit]The main ingredients of AussieMite are corn and maltodextrin. Other ingredients are yeast, sugar, citric acid and caramel color.[6][non-primary source needed]

AussieMite is made from GM-free vegan and gluten-free ingredients. AussieMite contains less than 1 gram of fat. AussieMite Yeast Extract contains significant amounts of B Vitamins and minerals B1 Thiamine, B2 Riboflavin, B3 Niacin, Vitamin B6, B9 folic acid, Vitamin B12 and Iron.
