Abbes Labdelli is an Algerian academic and researcher specializing in Materials physics, Hydraulics, and Environmental science. He currently holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mostaganem. Since October 2024, he has served as the head of the Laboratory of Biodiversity, Water and Soil Conservation.
Biography
[edit]Dr. Labdelli earned his Ph.D. in Optoélectronic Marerials and Energy from the University of Mostaganem. His doctoral dissertation, titled Ab-initio Study of the Optoelectronic and Magnetic Properties of the GdxBa1-xRuO3 Alloy, focused on perovskite materials and their applications in electronics and energy.
In August 2020, he joined the Higher School of Agronomy of Mostaganem as a senior lecturer, where he taught physics (including Fluid mechanics, Electricity, Optics, and Thermodynamics), as well as general hydraulics and French until December 2023. During this period, he held several administrative roles:
- Assistant head of department
- President of the Pedagogical Coordination Committee (P.C.C)
- Member of the information unit
- Head of the computer security unit
In January 2024, he transferred to the University of Mostaganem, joining the Department of Pharmacy at the Faculty of Medicine, where he began teaching pharmaceutical physics and bioinformatics to first-year students. He continues to serve as chair of the Pedagogical Coordination Committee within the department.

- Materials physics
- Soil science
- Water management and irrigation
He has contributed to several national research projects under the PRFU and PNR programs. He has published in high-impact international journals as both first and corresponding author. He has also filed two patent applications with the Algerian National Institute of Industrial Property (INAPI) and presented his findings at national and international scientific conferences.
On 26 February 2024, he was promoted to Associate Professor. On 1 October 2024, he was unanimously elected head of the Laboratory of Biodiversity, Water and Soil Conservation.
