Submission declined on 6 May 2025 by Sophisticatedevening (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

Basil Alchalakkal is an Indian filmmaker who made his directorial debut with the Kannada-language film Toby in 2023. Prior to directing, he collaborated closely with actor-director Raj B. Shetty on several acclaimed projects, including Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana and Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale. His transition to directing was a natural progression from his extensive behind-the-scenes experience in the industry. Toby, a gritty action-drama, was well-received and later released in Malayalam, expanding his reach beyond the Kannada film audience. Known for his collaborative approach and grounded storytelling, Alchalakkal continues to contribute to the evolving landscape of Indian regional cinema.
