Blunted Stylus is the project name of Brisbane producer, Jigzaw Geoff.[1]. He has been producing beats since the early 90's and is an original core member[2] and producer[3] (1996 to 2005) of the Australian Hip hop group Resin Dogs Known for sampling & production, remixing & arrangements influenced by the musical styles of soul, funk, jazz, breaks, & Hip hop.[4]

The name 'Blunted Stylus' refers to a worn record player needle as stated in a general WARNING on the back of RCA Limited, Australia records pressed from 1969

“Beware the BLUNTED STYLUS! A worn or chipped stylus may damage your most valuable records...”

Buying records from a young age, particularly taking notice of electronic synth-pop music (Kraftwerk Lipps Inc. Giorgio Moroder) late 1970s, leading into the participation culture of Hip hop in the very early 1980s. By 1988, Geoff co-hosted Jus-2-Def Hip Hop show 1988 with Bizze-B on community radio 4ZZZ, Brisbane, Australia[5]

Historically, Blunted Stylus "Hempatitis" E.P. and Blunted Stylus "2BLUNTED" are the first 2 vinyl Hip Hop records from Queensland Australia. (pressed in 1997), released on Hydrofunk Records.

"FIZZLA" is the first Australian rap on vinyl from Queensland Australia.
