Che (born August 29, 2006), also known by his former stage name cheRomani+, is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, and producer from Atlanta, Georgia. He gained recognition in the early 2020s through viral tracks on TikTok and streaming platforms, particularly for his songs "Agenda," "Euphoria," and "OFF THE LOT REMIX."
Early life
[edit]Che was born Chase Shaun Mitchell in Atlanta, Georgia. He began experimenting with music production in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially under the alias murkio!. Before pursuing music, he had no intentions of entering the industry. His early work was influenced by the pluggnb and rage rap scenes.[2]
Career
[edit]Che's breakout came in August 2021 with the release of "OFF THE LOT REMIX", which gained significant traction on TikTok, amassing millions of streams. He followed up with a series of singles including "Agenda" and "Euphoria" featuring Specxfic.
In May 2022, he released his debut EP titled 3, blending traditional underground styles with experimental elements.[3]
His first studio album, Sayso Says, was released in August 2024. Che has also announced a forthcoming album titled Rest In Bass, anticipated in 2025.[4]
Musical style
[edit]Che’s sound is defined by a fusion of pluggnb, rage rap, and trap, with melodic flows, glitchy autotune, and electronic-driven production. Critics have noted his distinctive approach to blending vocal effects with atmospheric instrumentals.[3]
