From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chitshai, also known as Ajit Sai, Ugut Shah, Chit Sain, Chitsai, and Kelemba, was a Meitei ruler who reigned over Manipur from 1748 CE to 1751 CE. He was a son of King Pamheiba (Gharib Niwaz).[1]

Reign

[edit]

According to historical accounts, Chitshai ascended the throne of Manipur in 1748 CE after allegedly assassinating his father and his elder brother on the banks of the Brahmaputra.[2][3] His reign, lasting until 1751 CE, was marked by internal strife and political turmoil.[4]
