D'Artagnan Potts
[edit]D'Artagnan Potts (born 29 July 2003) is an Australian beach volleyball player who has represented Australia in international competitions, including the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour and the Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships. Standing at 201 cm (6 ft 7 in), Potts is known for his athleticism, powerful serve, and presence on the court. He is part of Australia's emerging generation of beach volleyball athletes.
Early Life
[edit]Potts was born in Bridgewater, South Australia. He began playing indoor volleyball at the age of eight and later transitioned to beach volleyball, training under Volleyball South Australia's elite development program. His talent was quickly recognised, leading to national representation in junior competitions.
Career
[edit]Junior Career
[edit]Potts competed in numerous junior national tournaments, securing top placings and earning selection into the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball team. He partnered with fellow Australian talents at events such as the Australian Youth Beach Volleyball Championships.
Senior Career
[edit]Potts began competing on the senior international circuit in 2022. He has played with multiple partners, including Ben Hood and Jack Pearse.
In April 2024, Potts and Hood claimed a bronze medal at the AVC Beach Tour Nuvali Open in the Philippines.[1]
In November 2024, Potts and Pearse won gold at the Asian Senior Beach Volleyball Championships in Santa Rosa, defeating top-seeded teammates Mark Nicolaidis and Izac Carracher in the final.[2]
In early 2025, Potts and Pearse won the Australian Beach Volleyball Tour event in Canberra, again defeating Nicolaidis and Carracher.[3]
In April 2025, Potts and Pearse secured the bronze medal at the AVC Beach Volleyball Tour 2nd Nuvali Open in the Philippines, defeating Iran's AmirAli GhalehNovi and Bahman Salemiinjehboroun in a closely contested match.[4]
Potts also won the SA Open in December 2024 with Ben Hood, marking a significant milestone in his domestic career.[5]
He was named among South Australia's "Top 30 Volleyball Young Guns" in 2023.[6]
