Dan Priyasad (Sinhala: ඩෑන් ප්‍රියසාද්;31st August 1986-22nd April 2025) was a Sri Lankan activist and Sinhala Nationalist.

Activism

Dan was noted for espousing extremist Sinhala nationalism, mostly through social media channels. He was the convener of the Nawa Sinhale National Movement.[1] He had been arrested by the Sri Lanka Police in 2019, following violence against minorities arising from his activism.[2] Just prior to his murder he was a candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna for local council elections, included in the SLPP additional list for the Kolonnawa Pradeshiya Sabhawa. Death

Dan Priyasad was asassinated on the 22nd of April 2025 by two gunmen who fatally shot him while he was at a relatives home on the sixth floor of the Laksanda Sevana housing complex in Kolonnawa. He was immediately admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. His brother, Thilina Priyasad, had previously been murdered in 2022.[3]
