Flying Apsaras in Western Region at RCDB |
Flying Apsaras in Western Region (Chinese: 西域飞天) is a steel roller coaster located at Happy Valley in Chengdu, Sichuan. It was the third Bolliger and Mabillard Dive Machine to open in China.[1] [2]The ride is located in the Silk Road Odyssey section of the park[3], and contains a splash down, and interacts with the nearby Great Desert Rally.[4] The track was completed on the 5th October, 2017.[5]

[edit]Flying Apsaras in Western Region is a custom Bolliger and Mabillard Dive machine. It is 164 ft tall, and reaches a speed of 64 mph over 2591 ft of track.[1]
Layout
[edit]The layout begins with a 164ft lift hill, which leads directly into the drop. An immelmann follows, then a left hand turn into the midcourse brake run. The ride then drops into a tunnel underneath Great Desert Rally, goes through a 270° left hand turn and then a right hand turn into the splash effect over the water. The ride finishes with a left hand turn and shallow airtime hill into the final brake run.[6]
