A Foddian rage game is a video game genre where the player is tasked with a very hard challenge usually getting from point A to point B, most Foddian rage games are platformers. Any mistakes even the slightest ones will result in huge drawbacks and a loss of progress that can only be reclaimed by playing that segment of the game again. This genre biggest factors are the lack of checkpoints, or a very little ammount of checkpoints aswell as the nature of janky controls and skips, that are meant to save you time by skipping an obstacle. This genre due to its difficulty is a common game to be speedrunned
As the name suggests this genre was created using the name of Bennett Foddy in, who made the first known Foddian rage game (rage game or Foddian game in short) Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy.[1] in 2017. Even though the game is old it still proceeds to stay relevant in pop culture[2]
