Iguality
[edit]Iguality is a nonprofit organization based in Barcelona, Spain, established in 2022. The organization focuses on providing free mental health services to individuals facing social exclusion, including refugees, LGBTQ+ individuals, and survivors of domestic violence.[1]
Mission and Activities
[edit]Iguality provides psychosocial support through volunteer therapists, offering individual and group therapy sessions. Its services are supported by social workers and coordinated with partner organizations to deliver holistic care. The organization also incorporates technology and artificial intelligence to reduce administrative workloads and enhance accessibility.[2]
Its approach is structured around three core pillars:
- Psychosocial Support (MHPSS): Free therapy and psychosocial care provided by licensed mental health professionals.
- Sports & Social Belonging: Weekly group activities, such as football and running, designed to foster connection and holistic wellbeing.
- Advocacy & Awareness: Promoting equitable mental health access and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities.
By late 2024, Iguality had supported more than 90 individuals with mental health services and secured its first round of external funding.[3][4]
