Kate Ewert is a politician, currently severing as an elected member of Cornwall Council and is the leader of the Cornwall Labour Party since May 2021.
Education
[edit]Kate Ewert studied at Cornwall College and the University of Exeter between 2005 - 2008 with the Bachelor of Arts (BA) hons and History.[1]
Political career
[edit]Kate was elected to Cornwall Council in 2021 during the Council elections and is currently standing to be re elected in 2025.[2]
She was elected to the Cornwall Labour Group leadership in May 2021 after a leadership election, She leads the local Labour Group on local polices, campaigns and actions.[3]
Kate has lead political campaigns within Cornwall and Devon with the national Labour Party during the 2024 General Election, She has worked with Plymouth MP's and Cornish MP's.
Kate has also worked with the Toll Free Tamar action group to call for cheaper tolls for people using the Torpoint Ferry and Tamar Bridge.[4]
She has shown support for devolution within Cornwall but does not support a Cornwall only path.[5]
Personal life
