Kimbee Chan Hoi-wan (Chinese: 陳凱韻 / 甘比; born 4 Oct 1979) is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of property developer Chinese Estates Holdings Limited. She is also the Director of Trustee of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust, and the Conservation Advocate of the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong (OPCFHK).
Kimbee married Hong Kong billionaire businessman Joseph Lau in 2016.
In 2023, she founded Happy Yarn, a Hong Kong crochet brand with a mission to spread happiness.
Career
[edit]Before entering the Chinese Estates Group, Kimbee worked as an entertainment reporter. From 2002 to 2005, she participated in the Group's cosmetics business, including Two Girls products.
Kimbee has been appointed as an Executive Director of the Company since 2017 and acts as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company since 2021. She is also the chairman of the investment committee of the Company.[1]
Wishing to share the joy of crochet with others, Kimbee founded Happy Yarn, a Hong Kong crochet brand, with a store located in the LAFORET shopping mall. Happy Yarn is a one-stop crochet store, offering materials such as yarn, hooks, and other tools, as well as on-site workshops.[2]
Charity
[edit]Since 2016, Kimbee has been appointed as the Director of Trustee of The Joseph Lau Luen Hung Charitable Trust. Later in 2017, she became the Director of the Lady Lau Memorial Charitable Foundation ("Foundation") and has been the Chairlady of this Foundation since July 2019.[1]
She has also been appointed as Conservation Advocate of the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong (OPCFHK) since 2022[3] and the Associate Director of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong – Foundation since November 2021.[4]
Since the 1990s, Mr Joseph Lau and the Charitable Trust have donated nearly HK$5 billion to various institutions, including numerous individual cases. Major beneficiaries included Education and Healthcare, each account for approximately 20% of the total, while cases for the Under-privileged make up about 10%. The remainder includes categories such as Environmental Protection and Cultural Services.[5]
Kimbee played an important role in leading and ensuring donations were made to more than 300 organisations and people in need.
Family
