Mile 17 is an area in Buea in the Southwest region of Cameroon. These area of the town is also known as Mile 17 Moto Park because it is the gate way of travellers coming from different parts of the country.[2][3]
Geography and population
[edit]Mile 17 is the gateway to Buea Fako Division and the other five divisions of the Southwest Region. Prior to the tarring of the Mutengene-Muea-Kumba road, Mile 17 used to carry a pitiful image. For instance, the roundabout's surrounding used to be enclosed with banisters. Some of the whitewash had completely fallen off while others were broken with pieces littering the area.[4] Its closer to the Government Teachers Training College, with lots of Hotels which makes it easier for tavellers and good number of shops and supper markets.
Most of the inhabitants in that area are mostly Christians.
