Nodeflux is an Indonesian video analytics startup founded in 2016 by two engineers from Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) graduates, which also attended the same junior high school.[1][2] Nodeflux is Indonesia's first intelligent video analytics platform, using deep learning and computer vision to provide its customer with processed information on recorded footage.[3][4]

History

Founded in 2016, Nodeflux initially started as a big data analytical platform, before settled into AI vision in 2017.[2] Started at a small office on a rented home in Kemang, South Jakarta, Nodeflux business started to sought funding by joining Indigo, a startup incubation and acceleration program sponsored by Telkom.[5] in 2018, Nodeflux secured further funding from East Venture Group.[4] In the same year, Nodeflux was entrusted by POLRI to provide face recognition system to support the security of several high-profile international event.[6][7]

In 2019, Nodeflux was ranked top 25 among 90 companies during 2019 Face Recognition Vendor Test by NIST, the first Indonesian company to do so.[8][9] Nodeflux also won NTT Startup Challenge, a competition to nurture Southeast Asian startup ecosystem.[10] They also achieved more than 90% Local Component certificate, the highest among AI company in Indonesia.[11]

Nodeflux's VisionAIre, is a computer vision integration engine designed to perform machine vision operations which includes:

  • Face recognition
  • People counting
  • Crowd behavior
  • Vehicle counting
  • Vehicle dwelling
  • Vehicle intrusion
  • License plate recognition
  • Water level detection[7]

Designed with flexible deployment, modular analytics and fully open integration, its customer could utilize various video source, like CCTV, drone footage, even captured scene from mobile phones.[12]

  • Microsoft Azure: In several of its projects, Nodeflux utilizes several features of Azure Cloud Computing. Nodeflux's VisionAIre is also listed on Azure Marketplace.[12][13]
  • Nvidia: Nodeflux became the first Indonesia-based company to join the Nvidia Inception Program. Nodeflux also managed to become the first and only company from Indonesia among the top 24 AI company in the world that incorporated in the NVIDIA Metropolis Software Partner Program.[4][14][15]
  • Indonesian National Police: Nodeflux worked with POLRI to provide surveillance at several high-profile international events, such as the 2018 Asian Games and the 2018 International Monetary Fund and World Bank annual meeting in Bali.[7][6]
  • Jakarta Government: Nodeflux supported jakarta Smart City Program by monitoring traffic jam inducing vehicle behavior, license plate recognition to increase the city's local tax revenue, and mitigate flooding during rainy season.[7]
  • Bandung Institute of Technology: Nodeflux worked with ITB in developing Deep Learning Inference Chip (DLIC) to create a more efficient inference machine learning model by reducing latency.[16]
