Kienan Kowalski,[a] known online as Poofesure[b] and usually shortened as Poof (born February 16, 1995) is an American YouTuber and former ice hockey winger.
Early life
[edit]Kowalski was born in Manistee, Michigan and went to Manistee High School, where he played hockey.[1] Kowalski went to Lawrence Technological University, where he made the honor roll.[2]
Playing career
[edit]Kowalski played in the U.S. Armed Services, specifically for the Brew City Tankers, in which he had no assists and one goal, in which the Tankers lost both games.[3]
YouTube
[edit]Kowalski started his YouTube channel in 2009 creating Call of Duty content, consisting of commentary, gameplay, and funny moments. His series "LoLz" was the most popular series on his channel, ranging from trolling other players.
Kowalski made his now-famous first Wii Sports video in November 2012.
Kowalski has been a full-time comedic YouTube channel since 2012, trolling random kids inside the Call of Duty community. In 2017, Kienan made 'Friday The 13th' game trolling videos consistently, and has been averaging over 5,000 views a video and had around 40,000 subscribers.
Following the release and rise of Fortnite, Kowalski made trolling videos in the franchise. His channel had started getting major growth and had gone from 50,000 subscribers to 140,000 subscribers in 5 months. In June 2018, Kowalski made 'Fortnite Hacks' videos, which gave him a big audience from June to September in 2018.
In 2019, Kowalski shifted away from Fortnite and started making different videos focusing on Wii games, such as Wii Sports and Wii Fit. He has found exponential growth from the franchise since July 2019. His content now consists of him playing Wii games and a variety of other miscellaneous games. Kowalski is now known for is raging, and breaking many things, mainly Wii Remotes and occasionally TVs.
Through his videos, it has been revealed that he had consoles such as the Nintendo DS, and the PlayStation 2 & PlayStation 3 growing up. He played the consoles very frequently, and when coming back to them years later, he still had save data from as early as 2006. Kowalski has had a history of getting angry at video games to the point of breaking controllers.
On December 28, 2019, Kowalski entered a contract to buy a house in Tampa, Florida. He posted a picture of himself with the house in January 2020. He began moving into the home shortly after.
In July 2021, Kowalski experienced numerous days of feeling sick. He then tested positive for COVID-19. The symptoms resulted in him slowing down uploads for a short period of time. He has since recovered and has begun to upload regularly again.[4]
Kowalski has become recognized for his short temper and irate reactions to unfavorable events while recording the various games he plays. Dubbed "the angriest gamer on YouTube" by MEL Magazine,[5] his content has earned his channel significant acclaim, boasting over 2.57 million subscribers as of 2025.
Personal life
[edit]He is a fan of hockey, and supports the Detroit Red Wings.
