Career
[edit]In 2023, the show Hasna Mana Hai became the most-watched Pakistani comedy program on YouTube, surpassing one billion views.[6][7] In January 2025, it had amassed over 4.5 billion views across digital platforms. The News International described the show is a 'superhit' for Geo News.[8][9]
Tabish Hashmi fell into controversy when he asked Mariyam Nafees an inappropriate question,[10][11][12][13] but later he apologised.[14]
Some people claimed that Tabish's show is copied from Indian Show The Kapil Sharma Show.[15] In an interview with VOA Urdu Tabish defended pakistani comedy originality, arguing that India borrowed from Pakistan's rich comedic history. He cited that Kapil show copied format from an older Pakistani programme Chauraha (2007-Geo TV) which came 4 years earlier, he stated that Kapil's show success was due to high budget and better production quality, due to this it looked like it was original concept.[16]
In 2021, Tabish hosted one segment of the Lux Style Awards.[17]
During 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, Tabish also hosted Geo News's sport programme Harna Mana Hai.[18] Before entering the media industry, Tabish worked in the corporate sector.[19]
In 2024, Tabish Hashmi was honoured with excellence award by his Alma mater Institute of Business Administration, Karachi.[20] [21] In an interview in December 2024, Tabish said he has plans to come into acting as well.[22]
