Tex Elliott (born September 19, 2001as Tyler Elliott) is an American football offensive lineman who played for the Colorado State Rams and the Furman Paladins. Known for his versatility and physicality, Elliott contributed to programs in both the Mountain West Conference and the Southern Conference.

Early life and high school

Elliott was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and attended Cathedral High School. He was a standout lineman and earned multiple accolades:

  • Top 50 Player All-State
  • 2× 5A All-State selection
  • All-City Team selection
  • All State Academic Award

He also played rugby as a forward for the nationally recognized championship Royal Irish Rugby Club and was involved in the Boy Scouts of America. He was awarded the President's Award for Academic Achievement and named Top English Student in 2017.[1]

Recruiting

Elliott received multiple offers coming out of high school and was invited to participate in several college standout camps[2]

He initially committed to play college football at the Air Force Academy. However, the COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted the recruiting cycle across the NCAA, and he ultimately joined Colorado State University.[3] in 2020

College career

Colorado State (2020–2022)

Elliott played at Colorado State University from 2020 to 2022. He wore jersey No. 75 and developed as part of the offensive line unit under coaches Steve Addazio and then new hire Jay Norvell.[4]

Furman (2023–2024)

Elliott transferred to Furman University in June 2023 to continue his career with the Furman Paladins. He played as an offensive guard and wore jersey No. 71. Elliott provided experienced depth on a team competing in the FCS Playoffs and contending for the Southern Conference title.[5][6]
