Total Merchandise is a promotional merchandise distributor based in Colchester, Essex.
History
[edit]The company was founded by Jason O’Connor[1], David Stoddart and Michelle Rae Stoddart in September 2004[2].
In January 2024, O’Connor became the owner and managing director of the company following a management buyout[3].
Originally based in Little Braxted, Total Merchandise has operated from Severalls Business Park in Colchester, Essex, since 2016[4].
In 2025, the company was named as one of the top three biggest companies operating in the UK’s promotional product distribution market[5].
Operations
[edit]As of January 2025, Total Merchandise employs more than 40 people. It offers approximately 10,000 promotional products via its website, including bags, pens and drinkware, as well as clothing and sustainable products.
Branding methods used on products include printing, embroidery and engraving.
The company hosts an annual client-facing exhibition, which was most recently held in January 2025[6].
Awards & accreditations
[edit]Since 2019, Total Merchandise has consecutively won “Distributor of the Year” in the Sourcing City awards, an annual industry celebration of the UK’s promotional products industry. It most recently won the award in December 2024[7].
In 2024[8] and 2025[9], it was consecutively voted the winner of the BRIMAN award at the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA) Awards, as chosen by members of the BRIMAN Group.
The company is a Charter member[10] of its industry body, the BPMA. As of October 2024, Total Merchandise is a signatory of the Good Business Charter[11].
