Pradeep Nair, is an Indian filmmaker, who predominantly works in the Malayalam film industry.[2] He has also directed numerous award winning documentries,[3] thus making him a notable filmmaker of Kerala.[4]

His debut directorial, Oridam (2005) won him Special Jury Award for director at 52nd National Film Awards [5] and won 5 Kerala State Film Awards in 2005. [6]

Nair is also an author, with two of his books on cinema, the first one, " Koottu chernnulla kali " (2022)[7] and the second " Drishya Mohanam on studies & memories of filmmaker Mohan " (2024), has been published.[8]

Career

After directing several documentaries, Nair became an independent director with Oridam,[5] followed by Cherukkanum Pennum (2012)[9] and Crossroad (2017), an anthology, where Times of India stated Nair's film Kodeshyan as "stand out" among all 10 films.[10]
