I am unfamiliar with the subjects decomposed in these examples. If these decompositions are included in a publication, I encourage the author to cite them. Otherwise, I will replace them with published examples from Rowley and Schmid. Hasselmann's paper is not a sufficient source for this entire article. "This article has multiple issues" - since 2012?

Comparing the version from 2012 to the current version shows that the issues regarding citations surely are resolved, and the demonstrated increased use of this decomposition at least convinces me that it does not contain "original research".
