Reddit as Citation?

[edit]

citation 15 is a reddit link? Like why is it allowed an not even questioned. Srijan Suryansh (talk) 16:37, 13 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I wrote the paragraph, and decided it is necessary to quote Reddit articles as not many media outlets covered the backgrounds for the incident, and quoting Reddit for general public's reaction seemed justified to me. This incident is somewhat widely recognized in the SEO industry but not the general public.Tom282f3 (talk) 13:33, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Tom282f3 Do not cite user generated content at all to Wikipedia. UGC are not reliable sources at all. GrabUp - Talk 13:41, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your clarification! I'd like to ask that what are the recognized source to quote when I write, for example, "some believed" or "widely recognized"? I believe there are also many instances that one thing may be of some significance but only existed in user generated content or sources unavailable to the general public. @Tom282f3: If no secondary coverage, then no inclusion. GrabUp - Talk 18:55, 16 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
