Merge proposal
[edit]There's heavy overlap between this article and Intravitreal injection, given that the main method of such administration is injection. So, I suggest merging to this article, which is both older and slightly broader in scope. Klbrain (talk) 14:16, 5 January 2025 (UTC)
- @Klbrain, I support this proposal. What is the best way to implement this. I have not been previously involved in a merger but would love to contribute editorially. Any advice? I would love to volunteer to take this on would appreciate guidance and feedback. Thanks so much for your suggestion. Trex32 (talk) 16:53, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
- @Trex32: There's a step-by step approach described at WP:MERGECLOSE, then WP:MERGETEXT. These aren't small article, so it's a bit more complicated, but the best way of doing this it probably to follow the advice in step 1 of WP:MERGETEXT, to
Ideally, do any necessary copyediting and rearranging in a separate, second edit rather than when you first paste the moved text (to simplify attribution). In practice, this means: Copy and paste all the content you want to transfer; publish the page with the required edit summary (even if it duplicates parts or looks a bit messy at this stage; you can use In use or Inuse-section if you want to let others know you'll be fixing it right away); then edit the page a second time to clean it up
. That way, the edit history/recognition for content is clearer. The merged target article can then be tidied up or consolidated in the way any editor can. I confess that I tend to do most of this in one edit (for efficiency), but the method described in WP:MERGETEXT is cleaner. Some editors prepare a draft of the potential page in Draft space, but I find that this often leads to duplicated text left in draft and abandoned, with little input from editors other than the one who set up the draft. Happy to help if you get stuck. Klbrain (talk) 17:47, 1 March 2025 (UTC)- @Klbrain. Will attempt early next week and hope the product lands well. Appreciate the guidance and will tag you for your 2nd set of eyes. Really appreciate it. Take care. Trex32 (talk) 21:41, 1 March 2025 (UTC)
