- Comment: For the 1st hook, I can't afford to expand some more due to character restrictions. Open to other hook suggestions.

Overall: I formatted the hooks to pipelink Japan, and remove the unnecessary acronym DBP. The article was created on March 24, and nominated the same day for DYK. Length and sourcing are adequate. The article is neutral in tone. No plagiarism was detected despite Earwig highlights proper nouns and quotes which are not violations. Both hooks are interesting, but ALT0 is stronger. ALT0 is supported by two sentences in the article, both of which need a citation directly at their ends, as per WP:DYKHFC. ALT1 is verified by the cited source. The logo used in the article is in the public domain on the Commons. The QPQ requirement is complete. Flibirigit (talk) 01:53, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
- @Flibirigit: - Added citation/s for concerning sentences. Let me know if I missed anything. Ominae (talk) 02:22, 19 April 2025 (UTC)
Sourcing for the hooks is now adequate, with both hooks verified. Flibirigit (talk) 02:29, 19 April 2025 (UTC)

Rank of the Joint Operations Commander
[edit]Nagumo is referred to as lieutenant general in media because that was his rank immediately before his appointment. There may also be a confusion as both four-star and three-star generals have the title 陸将 (Rikushō) in Japanese. However, this article already states that the Joint Operations Commander has the same rank as the Joint Staff chief and the service chiefs and Nagumo can be seen with four stars on his shoulder since his appointment. - My two cents is to provide a citable source for that just to be safe. Ominae (talk) 12:52, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
