problem with redirecting

[edit]

I don't know how to solve it myself, but if you click in the link for the Wordle (2021/2022 game) you are redirected to the Tag Cloud page. 45.165.160.126 (talk) 05:09, 24 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

wordle

[edit]

Claiming "wordle" is used to mean "tag cloud" appears to be entirely unsubstantiated. This alone justifies {{fact}} and/or {{fact lead}}. Probably {{undue}} as well, since the claim appears to be based entirely on a single Thai site's usage.

Please add a discussion of "wordle" (specifically) to the body of the article, and supply reliable sources (preferably established, English-language, ones) that also demonstrate why "wordle" merits being mentioned in the lead, or all of this (including the hat note over at Wordle) gets deleted. Wordle.net was apparently, at some point in the early 2010s, a tag cloud generator website. Certain users may have used "wordle" as a genericized synonym for a tag cloud.
There is no good evidence of this in reliable secondary sources, however. I note that the hatnote at Wordle has been gone for over a year now with no apparent confusion, so that should probably stay as-is. 162 etc. (talk) 22:48, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The site is actually on the Wayback Machine, here. 162 etc. (talk) 22:50, 31 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
