Piped links?

[edit]

Is there any way to modify this template so that it allows links to be piped? Looking at this edit, we want the link to display as Reggie Rutland, but with this template in its current format, we would either have to use Reggie Rutland as a redirect, or link to Najee Mustafaa, which was not the player's name at the time. Can anyone help? – PeeJay 23:35, 18 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I concur. Another case is Leon White/Big Van Vader of the 1978 and 1979 L.A. Rams. Str1977 (talk) 12:31, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Wouldn't WP:NOTBROKEN apply here? ~ Dissident93 (talk) 20:12, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please add a "c" parameter before the player's name. Then a country name can be typed so the country flag will appear for foreign-born players. 37.0.81.234 (talk) 05:04, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit semi-protected}} template. – Muboshgu (talk) 16:47, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Punter/holder

[edit]

@Dissident93: Hello, you reverted my addition of the punter/holder entry. I added it because it appears in the coding at 1975 Pittsburgh Steelers#Roster for Bobby Walden and seems like a useful descriptor to have available for readers. In light of this, would you consider self-reverting? Left guide (talk) 23:59, 25 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Consensus on WT:NFL is against holder as a listed position, so the roster template should be fixed instead. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 00:07, 26 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
