[edit][[4]] David Teperson' (Hebrew: דוד טפרסון; 1926-2015) a lieutenant colonel or the IDF, known for being one of the longest-serving soldiers in the IDF reserves, where he served more than six decades. He came to Israel from South Africa to become a "mahal" (foreign volunteer) in 1948.[1]
Upon arrival he joined joined the 34th Armored Battalion of the Alexandroni Brigade. Next year he joined the Palmah's Negev Brigade. He fought in every Israeli war that happened during his life.
In his later years he had become director of the Mahal Museum.[1]
Israeli-born wife, Shoshana, whom he met and married in 1949, had two sons and a daughter, Idit Teperson , an actress.
