Ranvir Singh Rathore was a former Indian Bureaucrat firstly Commissioned at Bhind as the Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Madhya Pradesh police as a PPS officer in the year 1963. Singh was later transferred to the newly formed Border Security Force of India through which Singh served in the 1971 Indo-Pak war and 1984 Blue Star operation for which he received the Paschmi Star and the Prestigious President's Medal for his exceptional contribution. Later Singh also served in the Intelligence unit in Delhi and retired as the Deputy Inspector General of the BSF from Siliguri, West Bengal in 1995.
Born to a Zamindar Family of Khera Rathore, Bah, Agra. Singh belonged to the influential Rathore family of Chambal comprising of Bhaagis (Rebel) including the most famous Man Singh Rathore, his granduncle, alongside Nawab Singh (Grandfather) and Tehsildar Singh (Uncle). Vidyawati Rathore, Singh's Buaji (Aunt) was a former MLA from Bah assembly constituency 1962-67 and was member of the Indian National Congress.
