I also have done considerable field work with and can identify most of: the British marine mollusks, the marine mollusks of the West Coast of North America (especially of Southern California, and the marine mollusks of both eastern North America and the Caribbean tropical faunal zone, which is currently my particular area of study.

I am happy to call myself a naturalist in the British tradition. I usually will agree to being called a biologist.
I have had a number of years experience in museums (MCZ, AMNH) with mollusks, including five years with fossil mollusks.
