ONLC Training Centers
[edit]Overview
[edit]ONLC Training Centers is the dba (doing business as) name for Online Consulting, Inc., a privately-held IT training company. ONLC Training Centers provides instructions on how to use personal computers, computer software, and business skills. The company has locations across the continental United States and a library of 100+ courses that includes vendor-authorized courses and professional certification preps for Microsoft[1] and CompTIA[2]. Training formats include online instructor-led courses, online or in-person group training, and self-directed, self-study courses.
History
[edit]The company was founded in 1983 in Wilmington, Delaware by James Palic and Andrew Williamson. The company’s original focus was computer consulting. Following multiple consulting engagements that identified a need for computer training, the company changed its focus to personal computer instruction.
By 1988, the company was an authorized training partner for Lotus[3] and Novell and operating three training center locations: Wilmington, Delaware (Corporate HQ); Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Malvern, Pennsylvania.
By 2004, the company was operating 23 training centers in the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions, and was an authorized training partner for Microsoft, CompTIA and Citrix.
In 2006, the company standardized on its DBA name of ONLC Training Centers.
By 2008, the company was operating 41 training centers along the US eastern seaboard with expansion west into Ohio, Indiana and Texas.
As of 2025 the company operates over 100 training centers across the continental United States.
Innovations
[edit]ONLC introduced Remote Classroom Instruction (RCI™) in 2004. The RCI system uses computer technologies to connect participants attending class from multiple locations into a single training event with an online instructor. Once RCI was implemented, ONLC saw its class cancellation rate drop to less than 3%.
