Bad Move

[edit]

You moved Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Pravasi Express Awards to Wikipedia talk:Pravasi Express Awards - that's the wrong place for a draft article. It was in it's correct place. The page has been moved back.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 00:05, 2 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Pravasi Express Logo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pravasi Express Logo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:42, 3 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Pravasi Express Award Ceremony.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Pravasi Express Awards, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chandralekha. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

ArbCom 2018 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, Raajarun. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Pravasi Express Award.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Pravasi Express Award.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 05:20, 24 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Techbeatly, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Block notice

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing because your account is being used only for advertising or promotion.
If you believe that there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Deb (talk) 09:20, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Raajarun (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Dear Deb, I respectfully request to be unblocked on en.wikipedia.org. I am the creator and principal editor of the articles “Pravasi Express” and “Pravasi Express Awards,” and have made supplemental updates across related pages. My sole intention was not to promote or advertise, but to develop a neutral, verifiable biography of the editor of the Pravasi Express newspaper and a film director based in Singapore. I apologize for any formatting or sourcing shortcomings and am committed to adhering fully to Wikipedia’s content and conflict‑of‑interest guidelines going forward. Many thanks and looking forward to my unblock request. Raajarun (talk) 11:18, 6 May 2025 (UTC) [reply]

Decline reason:

Your whole editing career has been almost entirely dedicated to posting about one person and a business to which he is connected, frequently in unambiguously promotional terms. It is difficult to believe that you have not been editing with promotional intention, but if you really haven't, and you honestly thought you were contributing in a neutral way, then you are so much unable to see the nature of your own writing that you are unlikely to be able to avoid making the same mistake again. I also note that you describe yourself as the "creator" of an article which was created by another account which is blocked for promotional editing. Of course that may be a mistake, but it may not. JBW (talk) 19:50, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Unblock requests are to ask for a third party to review the block, but you addressed it to Deb. If you wish to first negotiate with Deb, you don't need to make an unblock request. Do you want this reviewed by a third party(me)? 331dot (talk) 15:01, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I just looked at this again and there's no way I will be unblocking. This contributor has been here before and was warned. Three years later, he's back attempting the same self-promotion. Deb (talk) 18:34, 6 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
