Middleton family

Srbernadette Fixed, you had written the year in the access date as "20025". Respectfully, you make this specific error quite often; you probably just hit the zero twice by accident. When this happens the red message says "check date values in accces-date", to identify where exactly the issue is. 331dot (talk) 07:08, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

On the phenomenon of the frequent occurrence of specific kinds of error, Srbernadette: On 12 October, Tenryuu suggested to you that "you should consider writing down what other editors have been saying so that you have a 'common mistakes made' note that you can reference to the side of whatever device you're using." Whitespace on top of page

phone keyboard constantly recentering the screen

I am trying to edit pages on my Samsung S22 but opening the keyboard will forcefully recenter the screen every couple seconds, making it impossible to see what I'm typing. Sometimes it closes the keyboard entirely.

This problem persists even if I use the "desktop site" option in mobile. I'm using Firefox.

Not had this issue on my A15 (Chrome). Odd. Could you switch to Gboard? Jay Cubby 14:41, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

@Scuttlebug Jam, Using Chrome on Android and been through that, but now i am the boss (feeling so). Basically i avoid that by going top again. Ok, simply whenever i enter something, that text hide itself and next line appear at top most screen, at that moment i just scroll to top of the screen (top of the section) and then again scroll to that particular line, and guess what - no issue. try once.––kemel49^{(connect)(contri)} 17:01, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Category history

If you add a category to your watchlist, it notifies you when pages are added to or removed from that category. The category history (View History tab) does not show this information, however, as it only includes changes to the category page itself. How would I see the history of additions/removals for any category (regardless of whether it is on my watchlist)? Is it available? If a category suddenly got bigger or smaller, it would be useful to see which pages had been added or removed. --Jameboy (talk) 17:30, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Image

While visiting the page This Must Be the Place (film), I noticed this image: [1]. The source says "Facebook" but the link is not accessible: [2]. The image caption states: "Teaser poster of This Must Be the Place"; but a reverse Google Image brings up Pinterest Paper Cuts of similar sayings: [3]. I'm not sure how to put up an image for deletion; but I think this is not what it purports to be. Maineartists (talk) 23:24, 21 January 2025 (UTC)

Is there another, more stable source (there are usually those that hold images of film posters)? Generally, this would go to Files for discussion or Deletion requests on Commons. This was much harder than I expected. WP does not make it easy to simply place an image up for requested deletion! Yeesh! I placed the required template on the image page here: [4], but from there on it's just a big mess. As instructed: [5] and then listed: [6]; but it does not seem to be correct. @Maineartists: The file is uploaded at the English Wikipedia (because it's non-free) and not Commons so a deletion discussion should be here and not at Commons. PrimeHunter (talk) 00:51, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

Already done. I was only following the advice / directions given above. Guess I should have gone to FfD first. Thank you, TSventon for linking the process. Thanks. This one had nothing to do with copyright. The image was not what it purported it to be: [7]. The uploader has a history of uploading questionable images to WP with numerous deletions and violations in their history; without any response on their Talk Page to notifications. The image in question has been removed from the article and successfully placed for FfD. Thanks again. Maineartists (talk) 01:31, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
