⭠ Last week's report

Along with most pages of last week returning, the new ones include the rare #1 that is a science topic.

Rank Article Class Views Image Notes/about
Dire wolf 2,101,677 Colossal Biosciences decided to do a "de-extinction" of the dire wolf that hasn't lived since the Ice Age, using the DNA from two fossils followed by gene-editing gray wolf genomes and creating clones gestated by domestic dogs, resulting in three pups, Romulus, Remus, and Khaleesi (named after Rome's founders who suckled on a she-wolf and a character from A Song of Ice and Fire, a series that has the similarly spelled direwolves). However, they're only hybrid gray wolves, as their genetics are very different than that of the dire wolf.
A Minecraft Movie 1,616,223 Hollywood had a rough first trimester where only Captain America: Brave New World made big numbers, but at the end of it came the year's first true blockbuster, with over $500 million in two weeks and analysts even considering the possibility of it becoming the second video game adaptation to surpass a billion after The Super Mario Bros. Movie (which also features Jack Black in its cast!). At the same time, Minecraft fans reacting to the "Chicken jockey!" scene by creating chaos in theaters is not as welcome, and there's even a new disclaimer asking for viewers to behave themselves, if only because someone will need to clean all the spilled popcorn!
ChatGPT 1,363,013 This just keeps itself here, helped by how it surpassed 150 million users. And the trend of using it to generate or convert images in the style of Studio Ghibli led to OpenAI deciding to add a watermark to such pictures and environmental concerns.
Deaths in 2025 990,219 Sometimes I felt that I couldn't go on
I wanted to leave, just run away from home
But I would remember what my daddy said
With tears in his eyes on his dyin' bed...
Natalia Grace 904,917 This Ukrainian-American dwarf has been steadily receiving notice during the run of her latest dramatized biography (#25). Are people checking her en-wiki to see how her life has turned out thus far, or is it a marketing ploy to help her recover money extorted from her (i.e. clickbait)?
The White Lotus season 3 900,758 This popular series ended its third season on April 6 on HBO. Reviews for this installment were mostly positive, although some critics disliked its slow pace, and the season finale was called "disappointing" by a Forbes reviewer. (Warning: spoilers in the review and at the season link.)
The White Lotus 880,148
Mickey Rourke 760,324 This 72-year-old American actor entered the Celebrity Big Brother UK's house for its 24th series and its 17-episode run that premiered on April 7. Almost immediately, he began making physical advances toward the host, AJ Odudu, and disparaging remarks toward housemate JoJo Siwa. He was given a formal warning by series producers and was removed from the house on April 12, following similar behavior toward other housemates.
Peter Navarro 753,454 #20's senior counselor for trade and manufacturing got into a war of words on social media with senior advisor Elon Musk this month. President Trump's global trade tariffs have cost Musk around $31 billion, causing Musk to question Navarro's Harvard education and calling him a "moron".
Adolescence (TV series) 742,277 Falling out of this list's top five, where it has been for nearly a month, this Netflix crime drama has been viewed 114 million times in as short of time, making it the platform's third most popular English-language series. It has even gotten the attention of UK's Prime Minister Keir Starmer (pictured in a meeting with series producers), discussions in Parliament, and been made free to view in secondary schools. Its success (and Starmer) has prompted the series' producers to discuss ideas for a second season.
Alexander Ovechkin 708,299 7 years after getting that elusive Stanley Cup, the Russian widely considered one of ice hockey's all-timers put his name even further in the history of the sport, surpassing the goal scoring record set by Wayne Gretzky with his 895th goal at the age of 39 and coincidentally, in the same amount of games. The Great One still beats him by 81 in the combined number of regular season and playoff goals with 1,016. Still, Ovi now has the 2025 Stanley Cup playoffs ahead of him, with his Washington Capitals having one of the top seeds.
Sikandar (2025 film) 681,804 Reaching its second appearance here, while last week it appeared to be a hit, now this Bollywood action film (co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, pictured) has become a borderline box-office bomb in its second week of release, still well short of recouping its ₹200 crore budget.
Jaat (film) 661,929 This particular Indian action film (written and directed by Gopichand Malineni in his first Hindi film) finds a Jaat (Sunny Deol, pictured) at a train stop and having to help a village in peril there. This film has half the budget of #12.
Walton Goggins 653,624 Taking no time off from his other job, this American actor joined the ensemble cast of #6.
Good Bad Ugly 610,496 Not a remake of that iconic Western, but why waste an opportunity to use it as the picture! Anyway, Kollywood released this movie where Ajith Kumar is a retired gangster who goes back to his violent ways when his son is wrongly arrested.
Jay North 610,182 This actor who died at 73 became famous as a child (pictured in 1960) playing the title role in Dennis the Menace, a difficult experience that even inspired him to as an adult join organization A Minor Consideration to support former child stars and other child laborers. With less acting opportunities as a grown-up, North eventually departed show business aside from the occasional cameo or interview, and moved to Florida to live with his wife and stepchildren working as a correctional officer.
WrestleMania 41 584,346 The annual "slobberknocker" that dates back to 1985 returns to the Las Vegas area (Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, to be exact) for the second time since 1993. This two-day wrestling event will take place on April 19 and 20 and features matches between the Raw and SmackDown brands from the WWE. Cards are still being filled between the two programs, but CM Punk's match (his first WrestleMania since 2013) is expected to end the first night; and the event will be the last WrestleMania for John Cena (pictured), as he has announced his retirement from the ring at the end of the year.
Kelvin Sampson 572,119 This American college basketball coach saw his Houston Cougars come up short in the NCAA Division I championship game on April 7. The Cougars lost to the Florida Gators, 65–63. Sampson must now rebuild his team for next year, after losing several players to graduation and the transfer portal.
Val Kilmer 549,340 People still mourn the actor who died at the age of 65, who is mostly remembered for Top Gun and Batman Forever but showed an impressive range (he even voiced both Moses and God in The Prince of Egypt) before a throat cancer took his voice in the 2010s and forced him to stop working. A good tribute would be watching the Prime Video documentary Val, retelling his story mostly through home movies recorded by Kilmer himself and featuring his son Jack, who is also an actor, as narrator.
Donald Trump 546,538 In this week's edition of "What Did Donald Do?" (WDDD), we find out that President Trump issued a whopping 12 executive orders! Some of them prioritized "Drill Baby Drill", and one blasted the Biden administration for not maintaining "acceptable water pressure" in showerheads. President Trump targeted the law firm Susman Godfrey; they sued him back. Amid the chaos, Trump actually did some rather nice things for once. Remember the tariffs from last week that sent the stock markets crashing? Well, on April 9, Trump noticed that the other countries were "getting a little bit yippy" and put a pause on all of those over 10% (except for China, which Trump slapped with a 145% tariff). Trump also exempted electronics from the tariffs.
List of Masters Tournament champions 521,019 In golf news, the 2025 Masters Tournament started at the Augusta National Golf Club, and rolled until Sunday, with 18 of the past winners in this list competing and Rory McIlroy (pictured), who narrowly missed the Report at #26, getting the title. Another golfer, Justin Rose, also got close to our list at #30.
Snow White (2025 film) 518,380 Disney remade its first animated feature in live action, it wasn't received well (the reactions go from critics being unimpressed to haters deciding to do some review bombing on IMDb to make it the website's lowest rated movie) and hasn't even made $200 million worldwide when the budget is on the $240-270 million range. The bad response even made the studio stop the development of a Tangled remake. Yet there is another one of those adaptations due this year, and Lilo & Stitch is actually being eagerly awaited.
Brandi Carlile 504,625 #2's star Jack Black hosted Saturday Night Live, and more views came to one of the musical guests, this singer-songwriter who appeared in one of the night's skits and also performed alongside Elton John to promote the album they recorded together (one of the songs there is "Never Too Late", an Academy Award-nominated track that many preferred to the eventual winner).
Rubby Pérez 491,156 While this Dominican merengue singer performed alongside his daughter in a Santo Domingo nightclub, the roof collapsed. He was taken injured from the rubble but wound dying at the age of 69, one of 226 fatalities of the disaster.
Good American Family 491,125 This Hulu biographical series about #5 has reached its mid-season point. Reviewers think it should have been a Lifetime movie at best, yet still praised its look at moral and human nature complexities. The series' halfway point has introduced the Mans family who adopted Natalia, with Christina Hendricks (pictured) portraying matriarch Cynthia Mans.
